The Crisis

Missed milestones. Lost confidence. No agreement on what’s broken.

By the time a project reaches crisis, the team is usually too deep in it to see clearly. Stakeholders disagree on what’s wrong. Leadership wants answers the team can’t produce. Every meeting produces more questions than decisions.

Project SOS breaks the cycle. An experienced, external PM runs a focused two-to-three-week diagnostic that gives leadership the full picture — and five formal deliverables to act on immediately.

What You Get

Five formal deliverables. A clear path forward.

Every output is designed to give leadership the information they need to make a confident decision.

Project Health Assessment Scorecard

A structured assessment of your project’s current health across scope, schedule, budget, risks, and team alignment.

Root Cause Analysis Report

A rigorous, evidence-based analysis of what actually went wrong — not symptoms, but causes.

Risk & Issue Register

All identified risks and active issues documented, assessed, and assigned with recommended next actions.

Remediation Plan

A concrete, actionable plan to get the project back on track — or a recommendation to restructure or close it.

Stakeholder findings presentation

A clear, executive-ready presentation covering findings, root causes, and recommended path forward.

The Process

Three phases. Two to three weeks.

1

Assessment

Rapid diagnostic: stakeholder interviews, documentation review, health scorecard, and root cause analysis. Week one.

2

Recovery blueprint

Remediation plan developed with stakeholder input. Risk and issue register completed. End of week one into week two.

3

Stakeholder sign-off

Executive findings presentation delivered. Leadership makes a confident, informed decision on the path forward. Week two to three.

Common Questions

About Project SOS.

When should we consider Project SOS?

Consider Project SOS if you’ve missed two or more major milestones, your team can’t agree on what’s actually wrong, stakeholders have lost confidence in the project’s outcome, or you need an independent perspective before deciding whether to continue, restructure, or end the project.

What if SOS finds the project can’t be saved?

We tell you directly. A recommendation to restructure or close a project is still a successful outcome — it gives leadership the clarity to make the right call instead of continuing to spend on something that won’t deliver. Every finding is evidence-based, not opinion.

What happens after Project SOS?

You receive five formal deliverables and a clear recommendation. If execution support is needed beyond the diagnostic phase, the Ongoing Project Support retainer is the natural next step — providing continued PM leadership through recovery and completion.

Your project needs clarity. Let’s get it.
